Northern Draft Beer Line Cleaning Area
WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO HAVE YOUR BEER LINES CLEANED BY CERTIFIED DRAFT TECHNICIANS?
Let’s face it, Draft Beer equipment is not only expensive. It is also a big part of an establishment’s profit margin.
Dirty lines are caused by beer stone and yeast buildup which develops inside beer lines, keg couplers, shanks, and faucets. Beer stones are little calcium deposits that look like grains of sand that attach themselves throughout your entire system. Beer also contains yeast which attaches itself to this beer stone. Over time, yeast will create Diacetyl (pronounced: die-ass-ah-tall) which gives the beer a slick/buttery feeling in your mouth. If your beer is slick or buttery or tastes skunky, it can usually be traced back to dirty draft beer lines/equipment. While it won’t kill you, it can cause symptoms like an exaggerated hangover and an upset stomach to those who consume it. It’ll feel like you’ve had ten pints when you’ve only had two.
Draft Beer lines and equipment are a costly investment.
Draft System Installation, Repair and Beer Line Cleaning should only be done by a Certified Draft Service Technician.
The technicians at Northern Draft all have the training and correct equipment capable of taking care of all your draft beer needs, whether it be installations, repairs or problems as they arise, or regularly scheduled cleaning. We’re here for you.
Every state has several beer line cleaning companies.
Unfortunately, every state also has several people who claim to clean lines but don’t have the training/knowledge or insurance in order to take care of other problems/repairs or installations of your draft beer system.
Northern Draft is proud to have a team of experts with the most years of experience and are the best trained in the area.
Kris Vaughn and David Fornara of Hayward, WI have attended Anheuser Busch’s Advanced Draft Beer Installation class. Erik Vaughn has completed Micro Matic’s Dispense Specialist’s Program. David Kuether and David Fornara are also on the team of Northern Draft. They come from years of experience as previous owners & operators of beer wholesalers. (one in Minnesota & the other in Arizona). Three of Northern Draft’s technicians: Kris Vaughn, Andy Fisk and Ray Hoffmann are Micro Matic Certified Installers. Micro Matic has a national network of hand-picked beverage dispensing experts. Micro Matic has searched the country for the most reputable and reliable installation and beer line cleaning technicians, who understand and implement stringent requirements and procedures of the draft beer industry. Micro Matic is the largest draft beer equipment supplier in the US.
Northern Draft is also your Certified Installer for Chill Rite 32 in Minnesota & Wisconsin. Chill Rite 32 a Louisiana based draft beer equipment supplier.
Northern Draft technicians are also Miller/Coors Certified Draft Beer Line Cleaners.
What does the industry recommend for scheduled cleaning and maintenance?
A regular line cleaning program is very important. The Brewers Association recommends every 2 weeks. We recommend using a minimum of a 4-week cycle between cleanings. As long as the cleaning is kept up by using the right amount of commercial cleaning solution, your lines are relatively new (< ten years old), and have been maintained properly in the past and kept cold, you can clean your lines every 4 weeks. If your trunk lines are old and warm (or have not been cleaned properly in the past by a certified and trained draft beer technician), you may need to replace your draft beer lines. Your previous line cleaner presumably did not use the right amount of chemical while servicing you all those years. We have tried to get beer lines clean after improper cleaning, but it is difficult to remove all those years of buildup in the lines. The best thing to do is have the lines replaced by us, and let us be your draft beer experts by maintaining your lines properly so this does not happen again. Becoming certified takes both time and money. Hiring a beer line cleaner that is not certified may be a little cheaper at first, but it will only cost you money in the long run. While the cost of replacing equipment is obvious, the loss of draft beer sales (due to dirty lines) is a cost factor as well. So, when it comes to your draft beer equipment and cleaning needs, we at Northern Draft hope that you use a hiring process (like for hiring any employee), go through an interview, check credentials and hire the most qualified person for the job. We, at Northern Draft, care about your draft beer system and can take care of any draft beer problem that you may have in the future.
Draft Beer is the most profitable thing you sell in your bar, so let us make sure the customer gets what they want a beer that tastes the way the brewer intended. Our company’s mission is to increase dra ft quality, profitability, and sales not to have your customers switch to drinking bottles because of a bad draft experience.
